2026/27 Penrith Cricket Club Committee

On Monday, the 27th of July, the 52nd Annual General Meeting took place in the N.A Hunter Pavilion at Howell Oval.

After 12 seasons at the helm, Paul Goldsmith has stood down as president, finishing as Penrith's 2nd-longest-serving president. We thank "Goldy" for all of his work over the years at Penrith, which has seen many successes under his leadership, including a Club Championship in 2015/16, First Grade Limited Overs Premiership in 2016/17, First Grade Premiers in 2018/19 and our maiden Women's First Grade Premiership in 2022/23. But Goldy will still be a part of the furniture at Penrith, as Goldy moves into the role of a general committee member.

The President's role will be filled by Life Member and Club Legend, Matthew Halse. Matt has served on the committee in the role of Cricket Manager over the previous few years, and we look forward to seeing Penrith Cricket Club continue to progress under his leadership.

Catherine Pratt has completed her term in the role of Women's Coordinator. Cath has made a significant contribution in further developing our Women's Cricket program as well as supporting other aspects of the club in her 4 years on the committee, none bigger than being involved in our maiden Women's First Grade Premiership in 2022/23. Thank you, Cath!

The Women's Coordinator role will be held by Glenn Bradley for the 2026/27 season. With the increase in committee size for the 26/27 season, we welcome two new members to the general committee with a vast array of knowledge in Barry Clarence and Chris Xuereb.

We are also proud to announce a Patron for Penrith Cricket Club, with current Australian Test and ODI Captain Pat Cummins taking up his first term as a Patron for the club. We are looking forward to welcoming Pat as a Patron of the club and helping inspire future cricketers within our wider community

Farewell to Craig Noble: A coach who helped build something special

After 19 years of coaching and six seasons with Penrith Cricket Club, Craig Noble has called stumps on his First Grade coaching commitments.

Craig’s journey in coaching began at Greystanes Cricket Club in 2007, initially to support his son Ryan. When his daughter Elise joined the Club in 2012 – as one of the only girls in an all-boys team – Craig stepped up as coach for her team. It was the start of a long commitment to growing the women’s game.

That commitment took on new dimensions when Craig co-founded the women’s program at Parramatta, establishing teams to enter the Premier competitions. He went on to coach the Parramatta U18 Brewer Shield team from 2015, guiding them to a premiership in 2016-17. He then moved into senior women’s cricket, coaching Parramatta’s Second Grade side in 2017-18 before taking charge of their inaugural First Grade team the following season.

In 2019-20, Craig made the move further west to Penrith, joining as assistant coach under Ron Woods. He spent two years in that role before stepping up as head coach and First Grade coach in 2022-23.

What a season 2022-23 proved to be, with our First Grade side lifting the Ruth Preddy Cup and bringing the Sydney Women’s Cricket First Grade Premiership to Penrith for the very first time. Craig was honoured with the Penrith Valley Sports Foundation’s Coach of the Year award for this groundbreaking achievement.

Craig continued coaching First Grade at Penrith in the seasons that followed, rebuilding the team and guiding the squad through a period of significant transition in the wake of the premiership.

Penrith Cricket Club thanks Craig for everything he has contributed to the players, the program and the culture that made that premiership possible.

The close of the 2025/26 season seen Nick Adams call time on his career in Grade Cricket. Nick has decided to hang up the boots after 14 seasons at Penrith Cricket Club, first representing the club back in 2007/08.

In his first season at Penrith, Nick would keep wicket in A.W Green Shield, 5th Grade and Metro's. Over his time at the club, Nick gave away the gloves and became an opening batter, progressing through 4s, 3s and 2s, eventually debuting in 1st Grade during the 2020/21 season, becoming First Grade Cap #225.

Nick represented Penrith across all grades over 200 times, with 105 of those appearances coming in 1st Grade, where he would go on to score 2,811 runs at 27.02. This included 3 centuries, with his first century in 1s coming against Randwick-Petersham, finishing on 146. He would also pass 50 on 11 occasions in 1s and, for those lucky enough to be in attendance, Nick would bowl a singular 1st Grade over in the 2023/24 season. Nick was also the recipient of Penrith’s 2023/24 Limited Overs Player of the Year.

Nick was a member of the 2009/09 and 2015/16 Club Championships won by Penrith, also being a member of the 2015/16 Metropolitan Cup Premiership winning team. Nick was chosen as Club Captain in the 2022/23 season and would also Captain 1st Grade on numerous occasions.

Nick finishes his career at Penrith with 6,191 runs across all grades, including 4 centuries and 21 half-centuries. Ever reliable in the field, Nick pouched 107 catches to go along with his 13 stumpings throughout his time at Penrith.

Congratulations to Dan Beatty on receiving the Men's Player of the Year award. In just his second season at the club, Dan took the reigns of 3rd Grade, leading them to a quarter final appearance.

Dan amassed 316 runs overall for the season at 28.73, including three scores of 50+, with a highest score of 67 against Western Suburbs. Dan was also strong with the ball, ending up with 32 wickets at 15.63, including three 5-wicket hauls. With 7/68 against Eastern Suburbs being his best haul in a innings. Dan's 10 wickets in a match against UTS North Sydney would prove vital in an outright victory for 3s, with figures of 5/27 & 5/38.

Unfortunately (for Penrith), Dan will be heading back up to his homeland of QLD next season, as he takes on the role of presidency at the University of Queensland Cricket Club.

Congratulations to Mithula Venkatesh for receiving the Women's Player of the Year award. In Mithula's first season at Penrith, she showed an exceptional all-round display across both Brewer Shield and 2nd Grade.

Across her 18 matches, Mithula scored 359 runs at 23.93, to go along with her 23 wickets at 11.87. Including a best of 4/10. With the addition of 8 catches. Playing a key part in Brewer Shield's run to the GF, ultimately falling just sort.

A season to be proud of!

Congratulations to Paul Goldsmith on being the recipient of the Perce Hargraves Club Person of the Year. A very deserving winner, Goldy joins Geoff Sullivan as the only people to win this award on multiple occasions.

Goldy has been the president of Penrith Cricket Club since the 2014/15 season, recently deciding that this season would be his last at the helm of Penrith. Goldy has played a key role behind the scenes supporting the club's success over the past decade. Goldy has also been the club's delegate for the SCA and NSWCA, and is currently on the SCA Committee.

Congratulations Goldy!

Paul was presented with the award by last year's winner, Catherine Pratt.

Congratulations to Jordan Watson for receiving the Trevor Bayliss Batter of the Year for the 2nd time, previously winning it in 2021/22. Jordy, who spent his season in 1s, amassed 732 runs at 48.8, including 5 x 50s. He was also able to bring up his maiden First Grade hundred against Sydney, ending with 108* off 129. Well deserved, Jordy!

Congratulations extend to Third Grade left-arm orthodox Wyatt North, who was the recipient of the Paul Thomas Bowler of the Year. Finishing the regular season with 36 wickets, and best of 7/23 against Bankstown.

Both Trevor Bayliss and Paul Thomas were on hand to present their respective awards.

Congratulations to Annabel Batty, who received the Women's Batter of the Year award for the second consecutive year! While the Women's Bowler of the Year were joint winners this year, with Simran Dhatt and Beth Lane sharing the award, congratulations to both.

Annabel featured across First and Second Grade with the bat this year, accumulating 724 runs at 55.69. This included 2 x 100s and 4 x 50s, with a highest score of 133*.

Simran bagged 23 wickets across Second Grade this year at 15.17, with a best of 4/14. Beth returned to Penrith this season, featuring in First Grade all season with 23 wickets at 21.25 with a best of 3/25.

Congratulations to Shubh Darji for receiving the Men's Rookie of the Year. While, for the 2nd consecutive year, we congratulate Ray Dent on taking home the Men's Wicketkeeper of the Year.

Shubh featured in Fourth and Fifth grade throughout the season, finishing with 24 regular-season wickets, including 5/49 against Blacktown.

Ray, who featured in Second and Third grade in the past season, racked up 28 catches and 6 stumpings. Taking him to 34 dismissals for the regular season. Achieving five dismissals in an innings against Blacktown.

Both awards were presented by Maurice Kerkham & current First Grade Captain, Ryan Gibson.

Congratulations to the Women's Emerging Cricketer of the Year, Aleena Syed. Congratulations continue for Ella Tilburg, who was the recipient of the Women's Wicketkeeper of the Year.

For Penrith this year, Aleena scored 453 runs @ 26.65, including 3 x 50 + scores. Also chipping in with 5 wickets and 3 catches.

Ella finished the 25/26 season with 11 catches & 12 stumpings, to go with her 321 runs at 32.1.

Congratulations to joint A.W Green Shield Winners Ekam Bhambra and Prince Shah & congratulations to Poidevin-Gray Player of the Year Cooper McLean.

Ekam finished his Green Shield season with 232 runs @ 33.14, 7 wickets @ 34.86 & 5 catches. While Prince achieved 13 wickets @ 16.15, alongside 2 catches.

Cooper had a consistent and productive PGs campaign with his right-arm legspin, claiming 12 wickets at 17.08.

This year will be an ambrose format and a shotgun start. Breakfast will be provided from 8am.

We'll have a few prizes for nearest the pins and a longest drive, plus prizes for winning teams and lucky losers. All standards are very welcome so please feel free to bring along a few friends.

Penrith Cricket Club would like to congratulate one of Penrith's 'young guns', Bryan Morris, on his selection in the NSW 40s Men's Indoor Cricket Team.

They get into action on the 23rd of May at the Australian Masters Championships.

Borris returned to the club full-time this past season, for the first time since the 2011/2012 season, featuring predominantly in our Metros side. Playing a key part in helping develop our young cricketers coming through the grades.

Penrith Cricket Club wishes Borris the best of luck at the Australian Masters Championships!

Penrith Cricket Club would like to congratulate both Alex Kerkham and Japleen Kaur on their selections in the NSW U19 All Schools sides.

Both players have progressed through the grades at Penrith, with Alex and Japleen both recieving their First Grade debuts in the 25/26 season.

They are scheduled to play against the QLD all-schools side at the end of April. Everyone from Penrith Cricket Club wishes both players the best of luck!
